SPECIAL
PROJECTS
This section brings together projects that have shaped my creative identity, where material research, craftsmanship, and storytelling converge. The Lotus Flower Capsule Collection is the project I feel most deeply connected to. Through the revival of an exceptionally rare fiber, I explored the dialogue between fragility and strength, tradition and innovation. Presented at the grand opening of the Ginza flagship store, the collection embodies my commitment to preserving artisanal knowledge while pushing material boundaries.
Designing made-to-order pieces for Eric Clapton allowed me to enter a more intimate dimension of creation. Each garment was developed through a process of listening and interpretation, translating personality and presence into refined, understated bespoke pieces.
My collaboration with Axiom Space expanded this research into an entirely different context. Conceiving and delivering the astronaut uniform, along with curated garments for the first private space mission, meant redefining the relationship between functionality, symbolism, and human aspiration.

MINI CAPSULE COLLECTION 2020
GINZA TOKYO
Harvested from the lotus stems of Myanmar’s Inle Lake, lotus fiber is one of the world’s rarest textiles, produced through an ancestral, entirely manual process. Each stem is broken, separated, and rolled by hand. Over 2,000 stems are required to create a single meter of fabric, with a monthly production of only around 50 meters.
For this capsule, I reworked lotus fiber by blending it with silk, enhancing softness, fluidity, and structural strength while preserving its natural lightness and breathability. The result is a refined selection created exclusively for the grand opening of the Ginza flagship store, where apparent simplicity reveals extraordinary depth, craftsmanship, and story.

TEXTILE INNOVATION: WARP INTEGRATION STUDY
In its pure form, lotus fiber is inherently fragile: even minimal friction can compromise the structure, causing breakage and visible damage. Through dedicated material research, I re-engineered the textile by introducing silk yarns in the warp and developing a balanced plain weave construction. This structural intervention stabilizes the fiber while preserving its organic irregularity and tactile lightness. The resulting fabric withstands quality testing and remains intact under manual friction, showing no surface wear. For me, innovation begins with listening to the material, understanding its vulnerability, and transforming it into a controlled, resilient expression without losing its soul.

TRAVELLER JACKET
The iconic Traveller jacket is reinterpreted in a fabric featuring pure lotus flower yarns woven in the weft with a silk warp.
The fabric is produced on hand looms with a width of one meter, resulting in narrow panels measuring approximately 80–90 cm.
This constraint requires an exceptionally precise garment layout and cutting process, with careful placement of each individual component.
The fabric is characterized by a pleasantly irregular texture and is presented in its natural ecru colorway. The Traveller jacket is completed with brown deerskin leather details.

CAPES
S CAPE / STOLE
Sample View #2
Two capes/stoles in cashmere and silk reinterpret the iconic Loro Piana S-Cape concept:
An ankle-length poncho with a deep V neckline, crafted by joining two stoles along their long edges, creating a light yet enveloping cape. The name S-Cape derives from S for stole, merging with cape and echoing the idea of escape, a departure from the ordinary and the everyday.
The first cape is rendered in natural-colored cashmere and silk, finished with a lotus flower and silk fabric trim.
The second cape combines two blue stoles woven with pure lotus flower thread, also finished with a lotus flower and silk trim.

LOTUS CASHMERE AND SILK
Two styles featuring pure lotus yarns applied onto a Golden Garza cashmere and silk base, one of Loro Piana's lightest and most ethereal signature scarves. The first scarf is presented in a monochromatic blue, enhanced by an abstract lotus flower motif embroidered with pure lotus fiber yarns at 2-and 3-ply thicknesses.

LOTUS CASHMERE AND SILK
The second scarf is presented in a natural colorway, with a Golden Garza cashmere and silk base and the insertion of pure lotus yarns woven directly into the structure. A distinctive feature lies in the discontinuous placement of the lotus yarns, which do not run across the entire surface of the scarf but deliberately break and reappear.
This highly complex craftsmanship allows for the production of only one scarf per day.

Axiom
With Loro Piana, we took on a project at an entirely new level, facing challenges that pushed us beyond Earth. By combining advanced garment construction, meticulous attention to fit and comfort, and exceptional craftsmanship with high-performance fabrics engineered for extreme orbital conditions, I redesigned the Axiom Space uniform for AX-1, the first private mission to space, giving it a modern, refined, and contemporary identity while preserving full functionality. In parallel, I developed a dedicated capsule collection for the mission, designing a complete wardrobe to support a 10-day stay in orbit, balancing performance, comfort, and sophistication in an unprecedented space environment.

Interlock 95% Nomex 5% Kevlar
Nomex is a heat- and flame-resistant meta-aramid synthetic fiber developed by DuPont, designed to not melt, drip, or support combustion in hazardous conditions.
Kevlar is a high-strength, heat-resistant synthetic para-aramid fiber developed by Stephanie Kwolek at DuPont in 1965 and commercialized in the 1970s. Known for being up to 10 times stronger than steel on an equal weight basis
Both fibers are often combined to create fabrics that provide both high strength and excellent flame resistance.
